writers notice things

Us writers, we see things, we notice things most people overlook.

Things like haunted eyes,
fidgeting hands,
real smiles,
and fake smiles,
over thought words,
overused hearts,
we interpret even a simple glance into something more.

We notice these things because we appreciate them.
We want to turn them into something poetic, something beautiful.

We want to write about it.

I reckon writers can turn almost anything into art,
because we see art in almost everything.

We notice these things,
sometimes we just pretend we don't.

  1. You are absolutely right.
And you, you are especially observant.

We find beauty in broken and bent things, we breathe life into words that describe the precious things we've seen, we want others to know how much more there is to everything.

  2. Yep, that's true, and we don't just see them, we look for them. I also like to think that noticing those things makes us more compassionate and understanding as well. I hope that's just as true...

And, thanks for the comment you left on my blog. :)

  3. Writers always see the things that no one else does, and that probably you don't want them to see. Sometimes, I like to sit in a public place just observing and making up stories about people. Keep noticing all the little beautiful and ugly things - it's what makes our world.

  5. Oh, so beautifully true, Nine dear...
Even though I am not a writer as such, I do have a desire to write words down on paper...observe...dream...imagine...
Keep noticing simple things, friend...there is true beauty in each little thing that deserves to be noted...
    Love to you!
